house update

Since my last post about my house a lot has happened. First my landlord left me a nasty message basically telling me to take my offer and shove it. O well we all knew that was coming. We then started the house hunting adventure. About a month ago there were a lot of homes for sale in the area. Now not so much. I wanted to keep it under 100,000 for a first home. we looked at four houses. Four!! I remember when my sister was looking I swear she looked at 100 or more houses. LOL I knew the last house we were going to look at was the one I wanted. I just knew it! The house we have put an offer on is shaped like a barn. Lol it is a very cute house. 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 living rooms, and a ½ finished basement. We are planning on closing on our home in January!

a home?

So roughly months ago I called my landlord to ask if he was interested in selling me the house. He was very rude and essentially hung up on me after saying he had to think about it. After 5 days I tried to call. He told me that he had talked to his accountant and was informed that he is unable to sell any more houses due to tax purposes. Ass.

About 3 weeks ago I had to call our landlord since our furnace wasn’t working and we were going to freeze, he then says hey remember how you wanted to buy the house.

We all know this cannot be good now. He tells me about how he met with one of the oil companies and they want to buy all his houses and use them for their workers. He tells me that he is giving his renters first chances to buy their homes before selling them.  He then tells me he is going to take the tax value and add 10 percent, since he doesn’t need the money he is going to give everyone a deal….. HAHAHA

Let me tell you about the tax appraisal that happened 2 years ago. Some company came through and apprised the entire town….. drastically high. The tax appraisal on our house is 35,000 and the realtor said it’s only worth 5000.

Today I mailed a formal offer letter of 10,000. We will see what happens from here I guess. It will need at least another 5,000 worth of work to make it livable to be able to rent it out after about a year and be able to make anything on this house as an investment. 

Maizee

Its been a rough week. My dog of 13 years is coming to the end of her tunnel. She has fought cancer and won...she won the battle between her and the miniature donkey that attacked her... but she in not winning the battle of heart failure. she has been on medications now for about 6 months. in the last 3 weeks things have gone down hill. Maizee is maxed out on all heart meds and now they are medicating her for asthma and allergies just in case. I have decided I no longer want her to have to try so hard to get up each day. It isnt fair to her. Next week Maizee will go to Heaven to be with Baby and wait for me. I will be getting her cremated so that i can sprinkle her in the snow. the snow was her favorite thing, she never wanted to come in even if it was 40 below zero she would roll in the snow all day long.

its a dogs world

In the lovely world of dogs there are behaviors as humans we do not understand. sniffing butts to say hello...eating our own vomit or feces for that  matter. none of these make sense...chasing tails. whether or not they make sense it is what dogs do. showing dominance by sticking ones butt on the others face of by way f humping. yeah i bet you didnt know when a dog humps your legs it is telling you im in charge here. well poor little mable is a dominate alpha female who we do not allow to be in charge. she is not quite sure how to handle it. well she discovered there is one thing she is in charge of so she humps in constantly. her blanket. she takes it out of her kennel and shows her blanket who is boss! it is absolutely hilarious. she doesnt do it every day. just after its been washed and she cannot smell herself on it any more.silly dog!
